We share your passion.

Meet the Owners

David and Georgette's adventure began with crossword puzzles, trivia nights, and Jeopardy - activities that brought them together thanks to their shared love of friendly competition and challenge.

Dave worked for many years in the Audio / Video industry designing systems for homes, vehicles and businesses. He still makes sure his favorite sports bar has the latest and greatest.

Georgette worked in healthcare for many years before taking a break from the field. While Dave is the VW fanatic, Georgette prefers her Hemi Charger for cruising. She's Dave's rock and helps keep Vogel Werks Designs running smoothly (while keeping him out of trouble).

The business was born in Dave's garage, where his hobby of making custom parts for his own Vanagon's soon garnered attention from fellow enthusiasts who wanted in on the fun. On a suggestion from friend Josh Thornley, Dave began producing his inventions to sell - in particular, the popular Vangaroo rear-hatch storage solution.

Originally Dave assumed he'd only make a couple for personal use. But Josh convinced him people would love the Vangaroo's styling and functionality. Turns out Josh was right! There are now Vangaroo around the globe.

Dave and Georgette still design and produce all the Vogel Werks Designs products in Eugene, Oregon. When not working, they enjoy relaxing at home, camping, trivia nights, and playing pool.

We feel blessed to be able to share our passion for Vanagon's while making products that enhance people's adventures.
